BULLY CHRONICLES
JANUARY 2010
January 4th, Hamilton was able to go back home to his owners! Yeah!!! They were so happy to have him back home and are putting to work the training we did with him here! Courtney really worked with him and he has lots of control now!
Our little baby Leila went to her new home on January 16th! She is with our friends Dan & Charlotte Sturgill in Las Vegas, NV!!! They had one of our girls from the Richie/Zsa Zsa litter born 9 years ago January 12th. They lost Porter very suddenly on the 14th to Pancreatic cancer. No symptoms and she'd never been sick a day in her life.... They have also been doing Bulldog Rescue for a long time and have resced over 20 Bulldogs in the last 5 years!!! Most of them with old age cataracts and due to their age could not have surgery and they have kept the ones that were blind until they passed...They currently have a 9 year old male that has cataracts and is mostly blind. He was so depressed after Porter passed and they were too. So when they called me on the 15th, I knew it was a true gift from heaven!!! This was the perfect home for little Leila! They will be taking her to the opthamologist at 6 months for her exam and to find out what options they have for surgery for the juvenile cataracts Leila has. Hopefully she will be able to see after the sugery but sometimes it's not effective. I am so thankful to have them as her owners and I know they will do what is right by her! As the year progresses I'll update Leila's progress!
January 22nd, I headed up to Ventura for the shows there! I took Mateo (Wild West's Distant Drums) and Saturday, Sunita and her girl Annabelle (Mateo's sister, Wild West Annabelle's Four Horsemen, CGC (at 19 weeks of age), RN(at 8-1/2 months of age) met us at the show!
On Saturday, Mateo went into the ring and loved it, and wagged his tail the whole time!!! He was the only puppy so he got Best Puppy:):) Then Annabelle was going to compete in the Rally ring, but they had moved it indoors on slippery flooring due to the heavy rains the previous week and she wanted nothing to do with that! So we had fun the rest of the day and went back on Sunday!
Sunday about 15 minutes before our scheduled time, a woman with 3 little terriers let them aggress on Mateo from the rear. They were on extend-a-leads, barking and trying to attack him, and she had no control over them at all!!!! Needless to say that Mateo lost his mind and went screaming towards the door with me attached to the leash!!! He almost went through the heavy glass doors. With a lot of coaxing and play time with his sister, he was able to come back in and show! He was not as happy as the day before, but he did it! The judge was very kind and gentle with him. He had seen part of what happened and was very understanding!!! I praised Mateo for doing so well, and all was forgotten. Oh the joys of puppyhood and having a very small attention span:) Annabelle did much better in the indoor ring, but did not qualify.
Saturday January 30th, was a beautiful sunny, but chilly day! Annabelle was entered in the Orange Empire Dog Club in Rally Advanced. We all sat watching her perform like a champ!!! Gordon, Sunita's fiance, video taped the whole performance!!! Annabelle finished the exercise with flair, sailing over the jump! She scored an 86 and won 3rd place, for the first leg of her Rally Advanced title!!!! YAHOO!!!! Here is the You Tube video of Annabelle performing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEP2NNQ0Dp8
Annabelle's next rally shows are the 20th and 21st of February. We're keeping our fingers crossed!!! Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that she is ONLY 10 months old!!!!! WHEW!!!! Way to go Annabelle and Sunita!!!
Next month on the 21st is also the CBF fun match in La Habra Heights!!! Go to www.cabullie.com for all the details!!! Hope to see you there!!!
FEBRUARY 2010
We got a new photo of little Leila from Dan & Charlotte! She is doing great. Here's a new photo of her from Feb 8th! She is quite the lap puppy!

I am so happy she is growing and maturing! Her eyes are the same, but she'll be going to see the eye dr soon!

We went to the Silver Bay Kennel Club shows on 2/27 and 2/28. Annabelle was entered in Conformation and in Rally. She showed well for me in conformation and then went to the Rally ring where she placed 4th in Rally Excellence with a score of 79!!! Yeah Annabelle and Sunita!!! This was a very difficult course and the highest score was only an 89, I think she did very good!!! Then the rest of the day Annabelle played with her cousins and brother at the Meet The breed booth!!! It was great to see Eden, Bow, Rebel & Harley, Gideon, Echo, Bowski, Athena, Sable and Virgil and Butter! Thanks to all the owners who took time out of their busy schedules to help make the booth a success! We didn't have a large turnout this year due to the heavy rains! Our booth was flooded and there was a small river running under my nice floor mat. Sunday, Annabelle was only entered in Conformation and she did a lot better, but is still a pup and is learning. She seems to really like both the conformation and the obedience rings!
MARCH 2010
On March 20th Annabelle competed in Rally Advanced and got a 93 and 4th place!!! YIPPEE!!!! It was really fun to go watch her perform!!! I can't wait until she finishes this title!!!
APRIL 2010
April 3rd, Annabelle finished her Rally Advanced title! YAHOO!!!! She is just 12-1/2 months of age!!!!!!!!! Wow, this girl is on fire!!!!!
After she finishes her Rally Excellence title, she'll go on to compete for her CD and CDX!!! Annabelle's owner, Sunita, has done a fantastic job with this young pup!!! Way to go girls!!!
MAY 2010
May 1st, May Day, couldn't start on a happier note!!! Annabelle finishes her Rally Excellence title at just 13 months of age and in only 4 competitions!!! WOW, I'm, just blown away!!!hehehe I am just so proud of Annabelle and Sunita!!! They have begun the CD training and training in Jumpers and Weaves!!! Annabelle came into season the morning of the first time she was to go into CD competition and, well, couldn't show, so she's out of OB competition for a few weeks, but she'll be in the Conformation ring at the ABA Far West Specialty at the end of May and also in the OB ring!!
5/27/10 - ABA Far West Specialty, Pomona, CA. The day was beautiful and there were over 100 Bullies in attendance! Wow, what a great show!!! First up was Diego's daughter, South Bay's Crystal Lite, "Crystal", she won the 6-9 puppy Sweepstakes class and received a beautiful trophy, then the 12-15 Sweepstakes class we had "Aubrey", Wild West's Flirt'n With Fire, and "Annabelle", Wild West Annabelle's Four Horsemen, CGC, RE in the ring and "Annabelle" took 2nd and "Aubrey" took 3rd! Many thanks to Mrs. Barbara Heck for a wonderful job judging! I won a couple of items at the raffle too!!!Whew!!! What a day!!!

(Annabelle is in 2nd and Aubrey is in Fourth)
Next came the regular classes! "Crystal", placed 1st, "Annabelle", placed 2nd and "Aubrey", placed 4th in their classes and got more trophies! Then Courtney took in "Phoenix", Elohim's This Is Why I'm Hot! for the Open Brindle class and she won that class! Then "Diego", CH. Wild West Conquistador, OFA-Good, EL, TH, CA won the stud dog class and "Phoenix" was 4th in the Brood Bitch class!!! For Vetrans, Pam's girl, AM/INT. CH. Wild West's Red Hot Chili Pepper, OFA-Good, EL, CA, CROM, was 4th!!! Yeah!! Pepper can still move better than 80% of ALL the dogs in the ring! It was a long tiring day 9 am to 6 pm..... Below are the ribbons and trophies for Diego, Phoenix, Aubrey, and Pepper's Vetrans ribbon! Now where am I going to put all this loot!!!

We went to the banquet and I bid on a beautiful statue and won it!!! Yippee!!!!
The next day "Annabelle" was entered in CD competition. She not only got the first leg of her CD Title, but was High In Trial!!!! WOAH!!! Little girl!!! She won a beautiful hand crafted leather collar and leash from the CBF specialty made by Shea Tuttle!

Then on Sunday, she got the 2nd leg of her CD Title!!! I'm speechless!!!!!:)(Above is Sunita and Annabelle working)
Next week Annabelle is entered at the Pasadena Kennel Club shows! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her and Sunita!!!
JUNE 2010
Annabelle DID IT!!!! She got the 3rd leg of her CD title in Pasadena!!! YAHOO!!!!! What a smart and gorgeous girl!!!!
Next.....

6/19/10 - Now it's Annabelle's brother and sister's turn to do some winning!!! Bow, Wild West's Wild Card, had his first show in Chula Vista at the Bahia Sur KC show! He won WD AND BOW!!!! Yippee!!!

Then his sister, Aubrey, Wild West's Flirt'n With Fire, won WB!!!!! Yahoo!!!! Aubrey's first show was the Far West Specialtywhich was indoors. She enjoyed showing OUTSIDE much more than on the slick flooring at the Specialty where they had used GREEN duck tape to hold the flooring down.
Both of the kids got Reserve on Sunday! That's still great since they were up against dogs that have been competing for awhile!
JULY 2010

I always love getting updated news on dogs that we've placed! In April, Trixie went to live in the Bay Area. She settled in very quickly and has gone camping with her new owners and has learned a lot of obedience commands! Here's a photo of Trixie on the beach with Tony, one of her owners!!! She looks very happy and I am so happy Tony & Diane have given Trixie a great home! Yeah!!!

7/9/10 - Annabelle wins the First Leg of her CDX Title!!!
Sunita has been practicing with Annabelle and it paid off!!! Annabelle, on her very first try, was one of only 2 dogs out of 14 that had a qualifying score in Open A!!! Her score was 172-1/2!!! Yeah!!! Annabelle is only 15-1/2 months old and many of the competitors were 3-4 years of age and had been trying to get their 1st qualifying score for upwards of 18 shows!!! Way to go girls!!!!!!!!!!! Not only does AnnieBananie have beauty but she has the brains to go with it!!!

Not to be outdone by his cousin Annabelle, Hamilton (Wild West's High Plains Drifter) won his first 2 points in the Conformation ring on his 2nd time in the ring! Our judge, Mr. S. Ambrosio, was very pleasant, and loved how free and easy Hammy moved and how beautiful his topline is! What a nice compliment on this very young boy!!! I'll post the show photo when it arrives!!!
We didn't do anything in the conformation ring on Sunday, but Annabelle showed fantastically all weekend long for her new handlers Ken & Marie Griffith! Thanks for a great job you two!!!

Also on 7/9/10, Echo - Wild West's Wake Up The Echoes and Gideon -Wild West's Dusty Bottoms both passed their CGC tests with flying colors!!! Echo will be working toward titles in Obedience very soon!!!
Next we went to the Del Monte Kennel Club Shows in Carmel, CA on 7/17 & 7/18. What a beautiful area and the weater was simply gorgeous at a high of 72 degrees:):) We were in heaven!!! Bow, Wild West's Wild Card, was RWD both days. He was superbly handled by Ken Griffith and Bow really LOVES being a show dog!!!
Annabelle was entered in Open A both days. The first day she had such a perfect run that the judge TOLD HER she had a perfect score of 200, But she was NQ'ing her for incorrect hand placement. She told Sunita that her had HAD TO BE FLAT AGAINST her body, not curled against her body, and that it looked like she was baiting the dog. Of course she DID NOT bait the dog and we have a professional photographer taking photos which proves it, but oh well. So we did the correct thing and went to the AKC Obedience Rep. He was very nice and even told us that the judge was WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get it!!!!! and that unfortuneately there was nothing he could do but talk to her. Then the judge CHANGED her story and said that Sunita had her hand was carried away from her body like she was holding food. WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So if anyone wants the NAME of the judge I'll be HAPPY to give it out. She made a mistake and then LIED about it. Nice...... Don't worry about it JUDGEY... Annabelle will succeed without you!!!!!
It is very unusual to see a Bullmastiff doing Obedience at this level where you usually only see Aussies and Border Collies.
We're off to Lompoc next with Hamilton and Aubrey!!!!
